The Sunderland Room is the original 14th century Solar of the medieval hall. As its name implies, there is a light but mellow atmosphere, enhanced by a roaring log fire in winter. Part panelled and part sandstone walls, this room is furnished with paintings and antiques with large mullioned windows overlooking the magnificent formal gardens.
